In this final lesson of our series on the judicial process of redemption in the book of Ruth, we witness the joyful conclusion of the story. The legal proceedings have ended, the rights of redemption have been secured, and the blessings of covenant faithfulness now unfold before the eyes of Bethlehem.
In this lesson we explore:
• The Marriage of Boaz and Ruth (Ruth 4:13)
• Naomi's Restoration (Ruth 4:14–17)
• The Birth of Obed (Ruth 4:14–17)
• The Women of Bethlehem Rejoice (Ruth 4:14–17)
• From Obed to David (Ruth 4:18–22)
• Naomi's Restoration (Ruth 4:14–17)
• The Birth of Obed (Ruth 4:14–17)
• The Women of Bethlehem Rejoice (Ruth 4:14–17)
• From Obed to David (Ruth 4:18–22)
This lesson demonstrates that redemption was never merely about land or legal procedures. God's purpose was the restoration of people, households, and hope itself.
The book that began with famine, death, and emptiness ends with blessing, life, and a child in the arms of Naomi. The God who guided Ruth to a field, Boaz to a gate, and a family to restoration was quietly preparing the lineage that would lead to David—and ultimately to Christ.
Throughout this series we have seen:
• The Crisis of the House — Household Threatened
• The Appeal to the Redeemer — Redemption Requested
• Before the Elders at the Gate — Redemption Adjudicated
• The Redeemed Inheritance — Redemption Accomplished
• The Appeal to the Redeemer — Redemption Requested
• Before the Elders at the Gate — Redemption Adjudicated
• The Redeemed Inheritance — Redemption Accomplished
The story of Ruth reminds us that God often works through ordinary acts of covenant faithfulness to accomplish extraordinary purposes.
